From the Garden to the Sea, is a site specific audio/visual night time event/exhibition set in the lovely Kilmoon House and Gardens on Sherkin Island.

The event will be focused on images, videos and sounds captured and recorded on the island, showcasing its gardens, beaches and zoning in on the flowers/ fauna and trees as well as the rich marine life and fauna found in and around the island. The exhibition will take the form of videos, photographs, field recordings and music represented by large scale outdoor projections, indoor projections and slide shows, framed photographs, as well as field recordings and music played at various spots around the garden and house.

The exhibition aims to highlight both the beauty and conservation aspect of both the garden and the sea, with a nod to climate change and the importance of preservation within our lifetime and our children’s lifetime and beyond. It will touch on how plastics are affecting sea life and altering the fragile balance of ocean life, and how important the ocean is to our survival. It will also show the beauty of the wild flowers and fauna of the island, and how important this is for insects and birds, in terms of pollination and diversification.
