Intermediate Ceramic Skills.
In this stage of the ceramics course, students develop persistence through advanced handbuilding, mould-making, and slip casting techniques. They explore complex forms, experiment with custom dies in extruder projects, and refine skills through repeated testing and problem-solving. Glaze experimentation and recording encourage patience and attention to detail, while learning kiln programming, firing schedules, and atmosphere control builds technical confidence. By persevering through challenges in material behaviour and process control, students strengthen both creative and technical mastery. This sustained, hands-on engagement fosters resilience, adaptability, and a deeper understanding of ceramic craftsmanship.
